Oculus Slashes Pricing

When Facebook (FB) made the purchase of Oculus a couple years back it certainly seemed like virtual reality was going to be the next big thing in technology. With the virtual reality market estimated to be $30B by 2020, I wouldn't expect Oculus to be slashing prices for its gear, but that is exactly what has happened.

Oculus has slashed the Rift by $100, now selling for $499, while the Touch motion controllers which were being sold for $199 have also been reduced in price by $100 each. Much like 3D TV, virtual reality hasn't taken off as fast as Facebook (FB) founder Mark Zuckerberg would have expected.
