Geometric Mean

The geometric mean is similar to the arithmetic mean, except that the numbers are multiplied and then the nth root (where n is the count of numbers in the set) of the resulting product is taken.

Geometric Mean

The geometric mean indicates the central tendency or typical value of a set of numbers.

Geometric Mean Formula

The geometric mean is similar to the arithmetic mean, except that the numbers are multiplied and then the nth root (where n is the count of numbers in the set) of the resulting product is taken.

Geometric Mean Application

The standard arithmetic mean when working with numbers/values. The geometric mean is used when working with numbers expressed as percentages.  Since the calculation focuses on percentages, the actual values do not need to be known.
