A Double Top is a technical analysis term used to describe a stock price that unsuccessfully attempts to break through a resistance level twice.  This is a bearish chart pattern.  Other bearish patterns include Head and Shoulders and Triple Top.


Double Top Identification

The Double Top pattern, which looks like the letter 'M' on a stock chart, often precedes a fall through support (middle of the M) and further decline.
